Bourjois healthy mix concealer

3 Jul

I purchased the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer when Priceline had the 50% off Bourjois products and because I had started to hit pan on my beloved Benefit Boi-ing concealer. I decided I wanted to get a cheap concealer that I can use everyday for work etc., and save the Boi-ing for going out when I want extra coverage.

Another reason I decided to try the Healthy Mix concealer (if the 50% off wasn’t already enough!) was that Lilit from Makeup and Macaroons used this concealer and she was really happy with it.

I purchased it in the colour #52 medium radiance. It looked MUCH lighter than my skintone, but it was the only one left on the shelf. Lilit had said that it’s okay for it to be lighter than your skintone, as it is supposed to give a radiant effect. And besides, I could always powder over the top.

Bourjouis Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer awakens the complexion and conceals imperfections, with a raspberry, apricot and melon enriched formula that work to brighten, regulate and stimulate micro-circulation. Texture works to blend into the skin and erase signs of fatigue, product also leaves behind a subtle fruity scent.

It looks quite yellow when it is first applied, but then when it dries, it turns a little more pink. This concealer dries to a powder matte finish, and because of this, it settles into fine lines a bit. I do powder over the top of this and I think that helps to smooth the finish out and set it in place.

Apologies for the next photo, I took the ‘before’ photo on my camera and the ‘after’ on my iPhone as my camera decided to chuck a spack attack on me before I could finish taking photos.

I’ve left a little bit unblended underneath the eye so you can see the colour of it on my skin. I apply this just with my fingers as the heat from my skin helps the product blend well. As you can see, the concealer does a great job of covering up pigmentation and dark areas under the eye. It also helps to illuminate the eye area. A little bit goes a looonnggg way so you don’t need to squeeze out much at all. This little tube will last me a very long time.

My only gripe with the healthy mix concealer is that is settles into the fine lines because of its powder finish, but for the $10 I spent, it’s not that noticeable of a problem (I’ve seen worse) and I am happy to keep using this everyday. I just make sure to keep up the eye cream.

RRP AU$24

Available in Light Radiance, Medium Radiance and Dark Radiance.

I love this concealer, I took advantage of the 50% off sale like yourself and it’s a great product.

So glad I got it on sale too. I don’t think I would want to pay upwards of $20 for it – even if it is good.

I like the smell too! Nice and fruity 🙂 I got the Healthy Mix foundation for my sister so I might sneak some and see how that is!

Yeay you bought it! Mine’s almost finished but not sure if I want to pay the full price of approx $22 for it… hmmm… maybe I’ll wait for another bourjois sale, or try a diff product.

WHAAAA?! You’re nearly finished it? Wowzers. If you’re looking to try something new in the way of concealers – I recommend Benefit.

It is a little expensive here, but I love this concealer! I’ll probably get it online next time, though

Yeah it is a little expensive for a “drugstore brand” – which is why I swooped on it when they had 50% off! haha

Awwh I wanted to try this concealer but I don’t think it will if it settles into fine lines – I’m using a creamier concealer atm but still find it makes my undereyes look so dry and powdery. Thanks for the heads up!

It’s so very hard in Winter… I feel like no matter how much eye cream I put on, I still get those little creases under the eyes. Oh well… the quest continues!!!!

It’s quite good at illuminating. The shade range is very limited thou. Let me know if you try it out.

Seriously good before & afters , it has such good coverage. Will through this in next time I am in Priceline. I have the detox roller ball one but it definitely does not look as good as this. The rollerball feels so good undereyes though!!

Thanks Julie! Yeah the coverage is really good for a liquid. Keep your eyes open for a deal on Bourjois at Priceline and snap it up if you can!

Ladies, you can get Bourjois much cheaper from UK’s website, ASOS (www.asos.com) ! Free worldwide shipping. It takes about a week to reach Aus!

I did not check if they have the Healthy Mix Concealer but they certainly have the Healthy Mix foundation. I got it for only GBP10! It’s retailing around AUD33/34 in Target! It’s almost like having 60% discount!

ASOS has sales promotion ever so often!

You can also find the high end Illamasqua products under the same Beauty section. I’ve got the famous Illamasqua blushes (selected colours) at a steal! It’s retailing AUD42 at Myers. I paid around AUD29 after conversion.

They also carry Benefit, Too Faced, Dowop, Stila etc
