the ce’lob’rities

4 Mar

If you didn’t know, there’s a hot new hairstyle going ’round and it’s finding itself on the heads of more and more celebrities each day. It’s the flattering “Lob” (long-bob) and there is a new celebrity convert to the Lob – Vanessa Hudgens. Good ol’ Ness turned up to Elton John’s Oscars 2011 after party held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California rocking a little less hair than usual. Vanessa follows in the recent footsteps of Jess Alba, Jen Aniston and my favourite ‘lob’ster, Olivia Palermo (perfect example of this seasons perfect hairstyle: straight lob with dessert coloured balayage) to chop to a lob. The neck skimming hairstyle isn’t too short that you’ll be crying into your pillow, wishing for your long hair back, and is still really manageable. I also love that you can add a little bit of texture to the style and still apply a balayage to the tips to give it a bit more oomph (perfect case in point is Liv P).

Now that you have your inspiration, but you might be looking for some beauty rules for the must-have Lob, then may I suggest you head over here and download the latest Primped/David Jones LookBook for 2011 which has an article on the lob and the rules you must follow before making the chop.

Or if you would rather it in magazine form, head into one of the below David Jones stores to pick up a copy.

I really like Vanessa’s cut, looks great and very wearable. But not a huge fan of Jen’s cut and colour, I think it ages her (but then again I’m more team Angelina so I might be biased!).

I agree. The colour is all wrong for Jen. It needs a bit more warmth. It washes her out.

Love Vanessa’s and Jen’s but Olivia’s looks kind of shabby and unflattering

      Really? I love olivia’s. But maybe it’s the colour I’m loving…

Oh yeh the colour is gorgeous and her hair looks shiny, but the cut itself just looks too blunt and wiggy (look at me being all critical, I hardly wash my hair lol)
