Something BIG happened yesterday (well big for me and the Brisbane blogging community anyway), the Bloggers Collective [Brisbane] hosted the first official Brisbane Beauty Bloggers Event (#BBBE). So for all of you wondering what went down yesterday in old Brisbane town, let me give you a little palate pleaser (a little taste of the event). I will be doing a full post-event banquet after I have all the photos.
So who is the Bloggers Collective you ask? Well the Bloggers Collective was a joint initiative between myself (Hip and Haute) and Annica (Haute and Stylish) aka the ‘Haute Girls’. This collective has expanded to include all the Brisbane Beauty bloggers that attended the event and is a nice way to group all of these girls together in a “Collective” – a joint force in the Brisbane Beauty community. Look out for this logo:
Sunday afternoon saw the best of Brisbane’s beauty bloggers come together to meet, mingle and experience first hand some beauty pampering from some of Australia’s best beauty brands. The event was held at Orb Hair & Beauty on the corner of Merthyr Road and James Street, New Farm and was the perfect venue to cater for the 11 beauty bloggers in attendance.
I just want to thank all the Beauty Bloggers who attended, and also all the companies who got involved to make this event a smashing success!
Thank you to:
Orb Hair & Beauty – the lovely Deborah (owner) and Anna (manager) who agreed to hold the event and went above and beyond to help (even putting together little goodie bags), and Lily who came to the event just to give all the girls Essie “minicures” (mini manicures).
Cloud Nine Hair Australia – especially Lauren (Cloud9 stylist), Chantal and Rebecca who came along to the event and did styling sessions and an informative product demonstration using the awesome Cloud9 flat iron and the revolutionary ‘The O’.
Napoleon Perdis – and to Kaitlin, our NP make up artist for the event who came along and did mini makeovers and demos on how-to do a winged eyeliner with staying power and a how-to on the hottest coral lip trend.
Nikki Parkinson from Styling You – for not only being a guest but also a super awesome guest speaker! What an inspirational woman!
Casella Wines – for sponsoring the event and providing all the guests with an endless supply of Yellow Tail wines (white, red, bubblies – you name it!). Yummo!
Face of Australia – for sponsoring the event and providing all the bloggers with FOA goodie bags (featuring the soon-to-be-released Molten Metallics nail lacquers)!!
And all the companies/PR that got on-board and provided product sponsorship for the awesome goodie bags that the girls received – Danne Montague-King (DMK), Ciccone Cosmetics, Australis Cosmetics, piCture pOlish, Schwarzkopf, Sweaty Betty PR, Yellow Tail Wines, and Napoleon Perdis.
And of course to our families for being a great support and helping out where needed! Especially my gorgeous mother who helped with the food (she made the delectable Red Velvet Cupcakes and Vietnamese Spring Rolls with homemade dipping sauce) and my boyfriend who made his most popular and moorish Mexican layer Dip (all the girls now want his secret recipe!)
There will be a more comprehensive follow up post which will delve more into the night’s events and will include links to all the beauty bloggers who attended and also more photos from the event. But to satisfy the cravings, I leave you with a few teaser photos from the night. Enjoy!
Looks like such a fun and fab event! The Cloud Nine ‘The O’ looks mighty interesting…
And NOM for the red velvet cupcakes! One of my ultimate faves.
@Angela Oh yes, The ‘O’ is an amazing tool… still not sure if I could do it at home. I’m such a noob. Red velvet cupcakes are my fave too, hence why I requested my Mum give them a crack! She did exceptionally well!
